Loved this. Made me think about this Sizzlers in Yonkers my family and I would go to to feel fancy and for special occasions back in the day. Made me even visualize it for the first time in many, many years, too. Well done.

Red Lobster was my Irish grandmother’s favorite restaurant. On one of our last trips there together, we were seated next to a motorcycle “gang” and she struck up a conversation with them. Just a group of humans sharing in the love of the Lobster experience. Thank you for conjuring these memories.

So glad you are here. The abrupt shuttering of our Red Lobster (the restaurant my family, too, frequented the most) in this post-pandemic landscape feels like yet another stark departure from any kind of prior world that made sense to me. You so distinctly took me back to the way it made me feel as a kid, and like most things of my childhood these days, I wish I could go back just one more time. ❤️

Red Lobster as a kid just felt so special. And same, really wish I could go back once more.

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing you. Anything that brings last night at the lobster vibes is comfort food for the soul, and thank you Substack for bringing Nana to the table.
